St. John's!

I went out to visit my sister in Newfoundland on the weekend of the 18th/19th of June... I'm just getting to uploading the pictures on my computer now... I've been busy! Anyways, Newfoundland is an amazing place... I saw mostly St. John's and the surrounding area, but we did make a day trip down to Cape St. Mary's where there is a bird sanctuary. Pretty cool! Anyways, here are some of my pictures from the trip

Today's Outfit

I wanted to look cute today because I was holding office hours for the course I am a TA for. There is a test coming up so I wanted to seem cool to any of the students that came in with questions, hahaha. It was awkward to bike in though because a) biking in a dress is never easy and b) it was windy so a few times the wind blew under it and I'm pretty sure I flashed my undies to a girl I was biking past.

Sorry for bad webcam photos. The dress is an item that I picked up at Value Village last fall... I altered it
because it used to be about ankle length and it buttoned up to the neck and had an ugly collar. Much better now however. Cardigan from h&m.

Emerson

I found this Illustration on Etsy by thewheatfield... it is a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, that to me pretty much embodies what summer should be. It is when I see or read things like this that I wish I wasn't in classes during the summer.. I just want to spend my days outside!! Cottage this weekend though! Pleas no thundershowers!

Secret Squirrel

I am loving the Australian clothing line Secret Squirrel! Their winter collection is super cute... I love the mix of sequins and stripes with menswear pieces.

Phases of the sun

This picture shows the phases of the sun across the sky over a 6 month period - from December 19th, 2007 to June 21st 2008. From one solstice to the other. I think it is wonderfully eerie, and amazing that it was shot using a pinhole camera made out of a pop can. Photograph by: Justin Quinnell
